Undisputed

The MM - Wesley Snipes is inmate boxing champ of the maximum security prison where he is serving a life sentence. Ving Rhames is the world heavyweight champ incarcerated under circumstances that purposely parallel Mike Tyson's. Peter Falk plays the imprisoned mafia boss who uses his influence to see that both men serve their time in the same jail so he can arrange a fight between the two pugilists. Typical of director Walter Hill, this movie has a simple premise and relies on character, dialogue and, in this case, intense boxing action, to carry the film. Undisputed is predictable and macho but has a lot more to offer than most action genre movies.
