The Truth About Charlie

The MM - "Jonathan Demme directs this poor remake of the 1963 suspense thriller "Charade". This film has little suspense and few thrills, other than cinematography that gives you motion sickness. The one bright spot in this movie is a solid performance by international beauty Thandie Newton (caution: link may contain nudity) who is driven to solve the mystery of the untimely disappearance of her husband, Charlie.  Mark Wahlberg is lack luster in his weak performance as leading man who may or may not be helping Newton resolve her problems. The rest of the cast gives Newton little support and the task of carrying this film falls squarely on her slight shoulders. Her effort is admirable but the task proves too overwhelming. The truth about "The Truth about Charlie" is that it is not very good."
