The Good Girl

The MM - "Jennifer Aniston gives her best performance to date as a thirty year old woman who gets a head start on her mid-life crisis. Aniston finds herself stuck in a failing marriage (with John C. Reilly), and a dead end job. Out of desperation, Aniston starts an affair with a co-worker Jake Gyllenhaal who fancies himself as the next J.D. Salinger. Mike White plays the security guard at the discount store where most of the cast is employed but White's most important contribution to the film is his outstanding script. Serious yet witty, moderately paced but never boring, The Good Girl is an excellent combination of story, characters, humor, and learning life's lessons.
