Sweet Home Alabama

The MM - "America's current sweetheart Reese Witherspoon (caution: link may contain nudity) plays a Manhattan clothing designer who must return to Alabama in order to obtain a divorce from high school honey Josh Lucas and marry New York politician and millionaire Patrick Dempsey. Sweet is the operative word in this romantic comedy about family, hometowns, ambition, soul mates, and the ties that bind. Yankee high society and down home southern culture provide the inspiration for most of the film's satire, and some of the comments may be viewed as more than benign, but none of the humor is malicious. Predictable, shallow, candy coated and good natured, Sweet Home Alabama is much more intent on making you smile than making you think.
