Sex and Lucia

The MM - "Romantic drama about a young Spanish woman (Paz Vega) and her relationship with a struggling writer (Tristán Ulloa) Part fantasy, part reality, purposefully confusing, and always erotic, this well acted and beautifully photographed film may be difficult to follow but it's a lovely journey.

MM Note - "Sex and Lucia" is one of the most controversial movies of 2002. Newspapers in Seattle refused to run ad's for this movie claiming it was too risque. (See link

Ed's Note - The above is a little bit misleading because the film, which is unrated, ran in many other cities including San Antonio and Tucson without any trouble. The Seattle censorship story is an isolated incident that says more about certain editors at the Seattle PI than it does about any controversy. (Read the Stranger's take, A Seattle Weekly)
