Panic Room

The MM - "Recently divorced Jodie Foster is forced to live in a four story home in Manhattan. Poor thing. The house is not only big it has a really cool secret room. Bad guys who want money show up and Jodie and her androgynous daughter have to hide in the secret room. The bad guys of course want in the secret room so the mayhem begins. Will the girls survive unwanted intruders, explosions, and hypoglycemia? They may if they don't panic.

MM Note - The general public has embraced The Panic Room even though the Movie Man has not. It was the number one movie in the U.S. for two weeks and maintained respectable box office receipts during the release of Scorpion King and Spider-Man. Panic Room was the most popular film of the 2002 spring season.

Ed's Note - This movie is one of the worst we've seen this year or any year. Why would Jodie agree to this? Think about it, for two hours she is stuck in a little room with bad guys outside and a diabetic daughter. There is nothing remotely interesting about this movie and three stars is a ridiculously inflated rating. The Movie Man evidently is influenced by box office returns and more official reviewer's opinions or why would he offer the three hats. We saw this based on his three. It was terrible!
