The MM - "Vince Vaughn plays a guy that is just too dumb to be believable! He's over the top. If he were really in any of the situations he gets into in the film he would have been dead meat. Nobody is that stupid."

Note - The rest of the Goliard Staff strongly disagrees with this assessment and found the movie hilarious. Vaughn said on NPR that he played the character based on himself when he first arrived in Hollywood and actually improvised on his own behavior as he remembered all the naive things he did and said as a parvenu on the scene. Along with Vaughn the movie stars writer/director Jon Favreau with Sean 'Puffy' Combs, Peter Falk and some other jokers. It is basically a Swingers type of thing in a New York gangster/club setting and is immensely enjoyable to watch if you appreciate witty and whiney dialog between buddies in the vein of Diner or Kicking and Screaming. Famke Janssen (caution: link may contain nudity) also stars and although she plays a stripper, is able to hide her nudity annoyingly well.
