Far from Heaven

The MM - "Julianne Moore delivers an outstanding performance as she portrays a 1950's southern housewife who tries to survive the disintegration of what seems to be the perfect marriage. Moore gets fine support from Dennis Haysbert and  Dennis Quaid, but the film's spotlight is firmly affixed on Moore. With the exception of one momentary scene of violence, this is an intense, but very understated, dialogue driven retro drama where real life problems are realistically and intelligently viewed through a nostalgic filter.
