The
Cherry Orchard or "Varya"

The MM - "English
cinema version of the very slow and tragic Anton Chekhov play set in
Russia during the early 1900's.
Impressive acting, especially by Alan
Bates and Charlotte
Rampling (caution: link may contain
nudity), help make for interesting characters, but the turtle's
pace of the story and the myopic behavior of the family who cannot
adjust to changing Russian society drag this movie way down. If you
love Chekhov or Russian history than this film may be of interest,
otherwise it's a slow burn for two hours and twenty minutes."
