The MM - "Goldie
Hawn and Susan
Sarandon costar in this female buddy film about the reunion of
two sixties Los Angeles music groupies. Hawn, show casing her
plastic surgery, is still living in the sixties and bartending on
the Sunset Strip but gets fired for having a lax attitude towards
current house rules for employees. Hawn's untimely termination
prompts a road trip to pay a surprise visit to Sarandon who has
married rich, prim and proper, and moved to Phoenix. Sarandon's real
life daughter Eva
Amurri plays one of her thoroughly modern Arizona daughters
along with Erika
Christensen. Geoffrey
Rush adds some comic relief but his role could be completely
eliminated. The reunion in the desert provides laughter and
nostalgia but this movie suffers irreparably from chronic
superficiality. One positive note is that at least its better than
its stupid title."
